From the beginning

Carbonneau, built around 1860 has been home to many families of different origins from the Bachan family in the late 19th century to the Franc de Ferrières who occupy the chateau today.

From the shores of New Zealand to the southwest of France, our family has evolved and grown over the years. Projects are what keep us going and we have launched into many since our arrival in 1992: renovating the chateau, developing the vineyard and winery, opening our bed and breakfast and recently our new tea room/wine bar - The Glass House.
